One in three Americans is part of a blended family. And most of the books and resources that exist were not written for them. 🏡

When I was deep in the research for The Blended Home, these numbers stopped me. More than half of all families in the United States are remarried or re-coupled. Blended families are not a niche experience or an exception to the norm. They are one of the most common family structures in the country — and they are still profoundly underserved by the conversations, resources, and literature available to them.

The challenges blended families face are specific. Loyalty conflicts. The ambiguity of the stepparent role. Co-parenting complexity across two households. The grief that sits underneath so many blended family beginnings. Traditional parenting books and family resources were written for a different structure, and the gap between what blended families need and what is available to them is significant.

That gap is why I wrote The Blended Home. And it is why I show up here every week to build a community around these conversations.

If you have ever picked up a parenting or family book and felt like your situation was simply too complicated to fit inside it — you were right. They were not written for you. I want to change that.

Before I ever wrote about blended families, I spent years studying the thing that quietly shapes every family: the home itself. And this book is where that journey started for me. 🏡

The Principles of Feng Shui by Master Larry Sang is one of the most foundational texts in my library — a clear, principled guide to understanding how the energy and arrangement of a space affects the people who live inside it. Master Sang is one of the foremost Feng Shui teachers in the Western world, and this book takes the practice seriously in a way that is both accessible and genuinely transformative.

Here is what I want you to understand: Feng Shui and blended family life have never been separate topics in my world. The way a home is arranged, the energy it holds, the flow it creates or interrupts — all of it shapes how people feel inside that space. And how people feel in their home shapes how they treat each other. If you are intentionally building a blended family, you are also building an environment. This book will change how you see that responsibility.

Are you familiar with Feng Shui, or is this a new concept for you? I would love to hear where you are starting from.
