Almost 2 weeks post-op.... healing hasn't been as quick as I planned, but I am getting there!!! I am also fully aware that my expectations are not from a place of patience for these things... I don't do well with physical restriction... haha! I did get the BEST news at my follow-up appointment this week.... pathology reports are CLEAR, and that "C" word is no longer a dark cloud of discussion in my current medical journey!!! 🙏🏼😁
I will soon be closing out this page, and creating a new version that reflects my joining Dolly Dog Co. , which has been a bit of roller-coaster for ALL of us, but now that the medical stuff is behind me, will start smoothing out. It's been a WONDERFUL decision, and I am loving it on every level!!
Please get your PawPartner profiles created, appointments requested, and scheduled out ASAP... we are a very busy salon, and my books are filling FAST!! You can request appointments by calling the salon, or through the portal and web pages.

Surgery went well... home and VERY ready for a little snack and a nap. Gertrude the Hitchhiker is GONE and headed to pathology for more thorough testing. My son and youngest daughter are taking their "Babysitter and Nursing Duties" quite seriously... I've already been scolded a couple times and told to park my carcass in bed for a bit.
Thank you for all the love, prayers, and well-wishes... not quite in a place to respond individually, but appreciate every message greatly. Gonna be a bit ouchy for a few days, but on the road to recovery!
🫶🏼💓🫶🏼
Well, my Dapper-Dolly family... tomorrow is surgery day. I am fully moved into the new house, settled enough to ride out the next few days, and only have a little cleaning and painting left at the old house. Hoping to get that knocked out today.
To say this past week has been a little chaotic is an understatement. I've had multiple pre-op appointments throughout the week, and a procedure done Thursday, in which they implanted an RFID device to guide tomorrow's surgery. Having to power through moving after that was pretty rough, but I had enough help to get it knocked out in less than 3 days!
I will likely be off work the entirety of this next week. Actually, I was kinda TOLD that I wouldn't be allowed to even *try* and schedule any dogs... cause most all of you know I was going to. Have I mentioned that my Dolly Family is the BEST?!? 🤣🥰Hoping to be good as new, rested up, and back to a full schedule at Dolly next Monday, the 9th. We will have my scheduling link turned on soon, and you can FINALLY return to booking online. It is IMPERATIVE that you reserve appointments in advance, and it is highly suggested to book out several appointments. Now that I am in a much busier salon environment, last minute appointments will be few and far between, we have a new client and cancelation list that never ends.
As always, thank you for your patience as I have navigated some pretty overwhelming changes and surprises the past couple months. Your kindness, words of encouragement, and offers to help have overwhelmed me in the best of ways. I've been too busy to worry much, but my nerves for tomorrow are definitely kicking in. I have a GREAT medical team and know I am in good hands. Hoping that, after tomorrow and a few follow-up appointments, I can just put this "medical inconvenience" behind me and move forward with much more lightness and a lot less stress.
Some of you have asked if you can provide meals or have deliveries made post surgery. I am choosing to keep my address private in order to enjoy some much-needed and long-anticipated separation between work and home. I will arrange for someone to pick up items at the salon, 2109 E 12th St. I will also provide updates following tomorrow's procedure as soon as I can. Again... the love, support, and prayers have been deeply felt and appreciated. So many of you have become FAR more than clients, a true extended family, and my gratitude is endless.

Not something most people would actually be excited for, but I had my consultation today, and surgery is scheduled for this coming Monday!! I will spend the rest of the week moving, get rid of my unwanted hitchhiker Monday, recover for a couple days, and be good as new!!!
We have not opened my online booking link at Dolly yet, simply because I had no idea what the next few weeks would look like. I will post again when we decide to open the floodgates, and getting your appointments scheduled in advance will be more imperative than ever!!
Again, I am reminding you all of a few changes that are simply the way of doing things at Dolly. I am an employee, not an owner of any sorts, and truthfully let a few too many things slide by as Dapper Dog. I have absolutely LOVED the past few weeks, and all the doggos I have seen love it just as much!
✨️ Proof of current Rabies vaccination prior to, or at drop-off, is non-negotiable. Not only is it a huge liability within the grooming environment, it is required by law. The ramifications of an incident with an unvaccinared dog can literally result in your dogs euthanization for testing. Full spectrum vaccination is STRONGLY encouraged, but rabies is a MUST.
✨️ Pricing is determined by Dolly Dog Co., and clearly posted on their website. Some of you have seen significant change, some very little. Please know that I have undervalued my time and services for your sake, but it cost me a profitable business, and financial stability. Cash, credit and debit payments only... no checks, no venmo.
✨️ Appointments do take longer, for many reasons. Three to four hours on average. If your dog needs a break, they get it. I have seen far more relaxed and happy doggos by just slowing the process down. Sometimes, things out of our control come up and it takes longer. I do my best to communicate. If you know you're in a time crunch, please let me know in advance so I can do my best to accommodate when possible.
As always, thank you for your patience and support... this has been a pretty wild start to the new year. So many of you have reached out and offered help, words of encouragement, and simple kindness. It is felt and appreciated more than you will ever know. By the end of next week, I will be moved, somewhat settled, free of my hitchhiker, and ready to keep on keepin on!

A few little PupDates:
✨️ Now that the technology side of things is leveling out, I am absolutely LOVING my new home at Dolly Dog!!!! The atmosphere and staff are INCREDIBLE... even more so than I already knew!!! With the much newer equipment and elevated products, my Dapper Dolly Doggos are getting next level Spaw Days and the outcome of their groomings have been incrediblel!!! I am learning so much from the other "Young Pup" gals, mostly that I need remedial training in my Old Skool ways, which I welcome wholeheartedly. These gals put so much love and passion into what they do, are so incredibly talented, and eager to step in and teach me ways to make things much easier on myself and elevate my end results. Dolly has felt like an immediate HOME, and where I belong. 💕
✨️ As for the medical side, I am in limbo until my consultation on the 24th, which has made things a little up-in-the-air, and hard to schedule around. I will be starting treatment for the Hashimoto's as soon as I can get the prescription filled... that has been a bit of a debacle. Let's just say that I greatly miss MediCap. 🙄
✨️ I am attemping to kick the moving into high gear, and my new home is almost clear and ready for me to take over. Taking on so much at once has been utterly overwhelming and exhausting, but I am greatly looking forward to the level of peace it will provide once the dust settles. I am grateful to have PLENTY of help getting stuff moved, and that definitely takes a little of the load off. Literally. 🤣
If anyone could spare a landfill pass, or two, it would be MUCH appreciated!! The new process of having to sign over bale-fill passes has meant that I can no longer use the same screenshot that has gotten me through the past year, haha!
Again, the continued support through this crazy process has kept me from losing the last bit of my sanity, and appreciated beyond words! The outpouring of love and concern for the medical side of things has been truly heart-warming. I am still a little nervous, but also feeling that this is all unfolding now to clear my path, and allow me to embrace the many WONDERFUL things that are coming together!

Ok, Dapper Dolly Family.... some of you have already experienced, the technology side of joining Dolly has been an utter disaster... for all of us here at Dolly, my clients, and theirs!!! They just implemented the Savvy client portal, and it has done nothing but crash and make life miserable. Soooooo... they are going back to PawPartner, which will make life much easier for everyone. In doing so, I will have to have all of you create a customer profile in PawPartner. Within this program, I *should* be able to get all my current appointments transferred a little easier... I have been having to manually enter each one, and I have appointments clear into MAY 🫣
PawPortal is quite user friendly, the link is here:

A couple reminders:
✨️ Proof of current Rabies must be presented prior to your initial appointment, or during drop off. I realize now, that I was a little lax on this, and have let many signed contracts, agreeing to current vaccines, be enough.
✨️ Between sharing bathing stations, and being able to allow a little more time for your doggos to rest and reset between steps of the grooming process, appointments at Dolly take a little more time than some of you are accustomed to. So far, the dogs I have groomed here have really enjoyed the atmosphere, and extra attention from other Staff members! If you ARE personally on a time crunch, PLEASE let us know ahead of time... there may be a rush fee, or I will try to rearrange appointments IF possible.
✨️ Payment: Venmo is no longer amd option, as I can not collect personal payments. Cash or card, please
✨️ Pricing: Yes, some services are a higher price-point than some of you are used to, but I have been VERY lax on keeping my fees current with the local averages. Larger dogs, and Oodles are where I have really failed myself in pricing. Dolly's fees are also more in-line with actual services provided, such as bath and tidy, full grooms, additional matting, etc.
I truly let a lot slide in the areas that were more work for me, while charging "usual" prices. Please take time to browse Dolly's website, and let me know if you have questions. Also, do look at some of the add-on services, such as premium shampoos and conditioners, facial shampoos, paw butter, breath refresh treatments. They have some truly amazing products that I have fallen in love with!!
Again, THANK YOU for your love, support, and patience during this transition. Along with the chaos of my personal health AND having to move my home by the end of the month, I have been a weeee bit overwhelmed, emotional, and physically exhausted at times. The next couple months are going to be a little wild, bit it WILL smooth out for ALL of us!!!

I will be working on getting all currently scheduled appointments put into the Dolly Dog system, as they scheduling links on their end are currently being updated. If you can please get registered in the Dolly Dog Client Portal, that would be helpful. As I get appointments put in, many of you will start receiving confirmation messages, and invitations to complete registration and profiles! The technology side might be a little "figure it out as we go", but I will be set up at Dolly, and ready to go Monday morning! ✨️🐶✨️
