Cliff spent 28 years working in the oil field as a mechanic and welder. In that time, he has had multiple surgeries on his neck and back. Several concussions and a fracture in his neck led to emergency surgery for hydrocephalus in 2016. Since that time, Cliff has had to learn how to live life with a brain injury.

He has learned to manage cognitive impairments and incorporate mindfulness. Counseling and acceptance of his injury opened him up to seeking out therapy to better manage symptoms.

Over the past year, Cliff has worked with Cassie (OT) on visual skills, coordination, neck stability, and balance, all while developing a deeper understanding of his condition. He has been able to return to competitive shooting, spend more time in his shop, and develop better coping skills for tough days.
“Since coming to Pathfinder last year, Cassie has helped me realize just how much I was coping with, and how much I am capable of.”

He’ll be shooting for that 210 score this spring!
