Yesterday marked 3 years since I left part of my heart at Acacia Park in Chicago. Every Sunday for the last few years of their lives, I would take care packages to my grandparents’ house. It didn’t matter what I made, they were always appreciative & up for trying anything. I got my hands on some local peaches & blueberries at the farmers’ market yesterday, and knew immediately I had to make a crisp & top it with vanilla ice cream. If you knew them, that was the only way to eat it. Even tho they’re not here physically, they’re always with me in spirit & in my kitchen. ❤️‍🩹
