Meet Dr. Joe š
Originally from Binghamton, NY, Joe made the move to Raleigh in 2018 to escape the winter and get a fresh start. Safe to say, he never looked back. These days youāll find him exploring local parks with his wife, twin daughters, and their dog Jax, unwinding with a good bourbon, deep in an Xbox session, or somewhere mid-binge on whatever Netflix has him hooked on this week! š
When heās not in dad mode or spending time home, Joe is in his element at Prosper.
Growing up, sports werenāt just a hobby, they were a way of life. Baseball, soccer, obstacle racing, powerlifting, CrossFit... if it was competitive and got you moving, Joe was in. That background didnāt just shape who he is as a person ā it shaped the kind of PT he became.
After earning his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from SUNY Upstate Medical University and completing his Orthopedic Residency through Evidence in Motion, Joe became a Board-Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS). He enjoys treating athletes across the life span and loves helping people return to the activities that matter most to them!
Whether youāre a competitive athlete, a weekend warrior, or just trying to keep up with your kids, Joe gets it. Heās been there and heās happy to help! š

Far too few people are doing resistance training despite the evidence showing its benefits.
Upwards of 60% of people in the US arenāt doing any muscle strengthening
Rates of participation for older adults are purported to be very low (10-15%)
If people arenāt training at all, the previously recommended guidelines are probably higher than what will initially be needed for people to start to see improvements
A favorite line: ādeviating from previous guidelines, we propose that individualizing programs to increase RT participation is, from our perspective, more important than conforming to specific RTx criteria outlined in previous Positionā
