What does meaningful rehabilitation look like from the inside?
In a new episode of Inside Voices, produced by the New Mexico Corrections Department’s Reentry Division, incarcerated participants share how Atlas is helping them reflect, manage emotions, build practical skills and prepare for life after release.
Through self-paced Interactive Journaling®, evidence-based programming and content on relationships, parenting, substance use, finances and more, Atlas gives individuals tools to recognize patterns, make different choices and see a path forward.

For the first time, ASAM has an answer built from the ground up. The newly released Adolescent and Transition-Aged Youth (ATAY) Volume is the field's first dedicated framework for youth substance use treatment, separate from adult standards, and grounded in how young people actually develop, recover, and need support.
Four shifts that matter most for providers:
→ Development first. Cognitive growth, identity formation, and emotional regulation are now central to assessment and treatment planning
→ Family is defined broadly. Grandparents, foster parents, mentors, coaches — the full support system is part of care
→ Earlier intervention, finally. Youth who don't yet meet SUD criteria but show substance-related problems now have a formal clinical pathway.
→ Assessment is ongoing. Not a one-time intake event, but a responsive process that evolves as the young person does
If you work in juvenile justice, behavioral health, or adolescent services, this framework matters for your work right now. Read the full blog to learn more!
