One thing I did not fully appreciate when I started CraigAds:

Delegation is uncomfortable.

Not because you do not trust people.
But because when you care deeply about your clients, it is hard to let go of control.

A lot of business owners understand this feeling.

You built the company.
You know the customers.
You know how you want things done.

So handing responsibilities to someone else can feel risky.

But here’s what I’ve learned:

Good teams are not built by holding onto everything.
They are built by teaching, trusting, supporting, and empowering people over time.

That is something we are actively building inside CraigAds right now.

And honestly? It is making us better.

Our clients are getting more support.
Projects are moving faster.
Communication is improving.
The team is collaborating more closely.

That does not happen by accident.

It happens when people take ownership together. 💡

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned over the last few years?

At some point, your business cannot rely on you doing everything anymore.

When CraigAds first started, it was simple.

I was the salesperson.
The strategist.
The account manager.
The follow up guy.
The SEO guy.
The guy answering emails at 10:30 at night. 😅

And honestly, that works for a season.

But eventually, if you want to grow well and support clients the right way, you have to build something bigger than yourself.

That has probably been one of the biggest evolutions inside CraigAds.

We are still deeply relationship focused.
We still believe in collaboration.
We still care about the details.

But now there is a team behind the work.

A team that communicates.
A team that solves problems together.
A team that genuinely cares about client success.

That part has been really rewarding to watch.

Because the goal was never to build “Craig doing marketing.”

The goal was to build a team and culture clients can trust. 🤝

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned building CraigAds is this:

Marketing works better when clients and agencies actually collaborate. 🤝

That probably sounds obvious… but you would be surprised how often businesses hire an agency and expect everything to magically work without conversation, feedback, or involvement.

The best client relationships we have are not the ones where we disappear for 12 months.

They are the ones where we talk regularly.
Review results together.
Adjust strategy together.
Solve problems together.

Because good marketing is rarely “set it and forget it.”

Markets change.
Customers change.
Business priorities change.

The businesses that grow the most are usually the ones willing to stay engaged in the process.

That is a huge part of what “Choose Collaboration” means to us.
