🏡✨ Are Rentals Slower During the Holidays?
Short answer: Yes — but that doesn’t mean you should wait to list.
Here’s what we see every year in North County San Diego:
🎄 Holiday distractions = fewer people actively searching
Most renters aren’t eager to move between Thanksgiving and New Year’s.
💼 But the renters who are looking are serious
These applicants usually need to move ASAP — which often means higher-quality renters and faster decisions.
🏠 Waiting until January = guaranteed vacancy loss
Even if it takes a little longer to rent, listing now almost always beats leaving the home empty for 4–8 weeks.
📈 Bonus: January demand surge
Having your property already on the market gives you a jump on the New Year rush.

Pop Quiz! What are the rules for having pets in rental properties?
1. Are Landlords required to allow pets?

3. Is a tenant required to carry pet insurance in addition to renter's insurance?

2. Yes
3. Though it is not a California state law, landlords often require tenants to cary renters insurance that includes liability coverage for pets.
