It is with great sadness that I announce we have shut our doors at Watkins Landmark Construction. While this has been an incredibly heart wrenching decision, all I can do is to express my gratitude to everybody involved in our 18 years of existence. In the end, I am left with a deep appreciation for everybody who has supported us over the years. Thank you.

We are thrilled to be the selected General Contractor for the Bethel AME Housing project in Logan Heights. This could very well be the first YIGBY approved complex in San Diego! YIGBY plans to tear down a two-unit duplex and build a 26-unit complex in its place. The new development would be 100% affordable and apartments would be reserved exclusively for veterans and seniors.

The attached article details a bill, SB 4, that would allow religious groups and other nonprofits in California to build affordable housing. Pastor Harvey Vaughn’s church plans to break ground in March and have people moving in by December.

SB4 could be the beginning of something beautiful in the community and we’re here to build all of it.
