Personally I would object that it will have the affect to relieve that Inflation. I see that because our World 🌍 sadly is so Dependent upon Oil it's Oil that should be considered to be dealt with. (Too much to address there I will condense.)
With Rents so $High and perhaps 45%-55% of People's Budget it will make it next to impossible for Them to afford Buying a Home. Instead the wealthy Buying Groups or Investment Groups will be able to "Cherry Pick" the better neighborhoods were $Price is not the issue. They will keep the Rents High and with the Supply Low the Cost of ownership out of reach by too many. A healthy Market must keep Ownership by the Middle Class an option. If not it will stifle New Buyers ability to own. Healthy Markets allow getting a Starter Home then a larger Home if the Family grows to then downsizing later in Life or use their Equity to assist in retirement or their Kids to buy. I feel the Rate increase will Not solve the Inflation problem but only excasperbate the situation.
