I saw this plaque at the parish hall food kitchen and my eyes began to water. Dr. Mike was one of my first customers. I helped him with a couple of his screen doors. He was a urologist in the U.S. Navy. I remember him saying to me, “Alex can you imagine how busy I was after a port visit?!” Haha!

Dr. Mike was a diehard Steelers fan. He loved Carlsbad and the St. Patrick Catholic community. He was a regular at Saturday night mass. After I repaired his doors I accidentally left the check he used to pay me in the wash. So he had to draft another one for me. (I was almost too scared to ask).

Dr. Mike, thanks for choosing me to fix your screens. I’ll never forget you, sir.
