Burger Boy
For years I’ve poured everything I have into running Burger Boy. This isn’t just a restaurant, it’s a local landmark where generations of families have come together for good food, laughter, and memories.
Since having my son, I’ve done my best to balance being a dad and running this place, but this past year has been the hardest of my life. I fell behind on my business mortgage last fall. (Mortgage structured seasonally April- October) The bank said they’d put the missed payments on the back of the loan. I figured it was done. At the beginning of this year they changed their mind. They demanded me to come current the first weeks of my season. Which took literally every dollar I had. Just when I thought it was all taken care of, they demanded more and accelerated my loan, and now Burger Boy is in active foreclosure and facing auction.
I’ve worked 16-hour days, almost every day for the past 10 years of my life. Cooking, fixing equipment, and keeping the doors open however I can. I’ve never been afraid of hard work and I’ve never asked for help before, but this is bigger than me now.
💪 What Burger Boy Stands For
Burger Boy has always been about more than burgers. We’ve made it a point to give back because this community has given us everything:
• 🍗 300+ free Thanksgiving meals each year for anyone who needs them.
• 🚲 Free bikes every Easter to local kids to spread joy and encouragement.
• 🛠️ Donations to SkillsUSA when local students don’t have funds to travel and compete in their trades.
My biggest fear isn’t just losing the building, it’s that Burger Boy could go to auction and be turned into something it’s not, and all of that community spirit would be lost too. This restaurant has soul. It’s a part of Caribou’s identity, and I want to keep it that way.
🙏 How You Can Help
If Burger Boy has ever been part of your life, if you’ve shared a meal here, worked here, or brought your kids for ice cream, please consider helping me save it.
Every donation, share, or word of support matters more than I can say.
This isn’t about me. It’s about preserving something that belongs to our community.
With your help, I can keep this place alive, refinance it locally, and make sure Burger Boy continues to serve Caribou the way it always has: with pride, hard work, and heart.
I don’t have much time, but I thought I’d use what time I have left to ask for help. I’m tired. Tired of fighting alone, and tired of fighting in silence. I don’t want a handout. I just need enough breathing room to make a realistic decision when I’m not being crushed by the pressure of losing everything.
In the meantime, we’re still open. Come by and say hello.
From the bottom of my heart,

This morning before all the chaos of the day I took a ride to the Veterans Cemetery and just sat there in silence. Felt the wind blow in my face, listened to the flags flutter in the wind.
While your Memorial Day weekend might be packed with family fun and summer activities— I think it's important to pause the festivities in remembrance of the real meaning and history of Memorial Day. In honor of that sentiment, I wanted to express gratitude to the sacrifice so many have made in service to our country.
“This is the day we pay homage to all those who didn’t come home. This is not Veterans Day, it’s not a celebration, it is a day of solemn contemplation over the cost of freedom.”
Thank you for all you’ve done, and continue to do. 🇺🇸
Burger Boy will be closing early at 4 pm so our employees can enjoy the rest of their day.
Have the best day!!

The temperatures are finally warming up and although the sun won’t be making much of an appearance this week, we can help you bring in the summer with some food and some ice cream! You might even catch a glimpse of Wren training people on register when you stop in! (He does great helping out but he’s just in it for the lemonade)
