It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share news of the passing of my Dad, or “Doc”, as he was known by many. We are deeply saddened by the loss and appreciate your thoughts and well wishes. Through all the emotions, we will celebrate his legacy and all that he has done in life and the immeasurable mark he left on all of us and his beloved Homestead Golf Course.

Remembering Donald Walter Powell Donald W. Powell, 82, of Fell Township died on Tuesday at Geisinger-Community Medical Center, Scranton. Born in Carbondale, he was the son of the late Walter and Helen Russell Powell. D

We have a tournament tomorrow morning (Sunday) that may modify starting holes for walk-ins for a period of time but will have room for play throughout the day.

Open golf all day on Monday (Labor Day), no tee time required.
