Wait... laundry sheets have plastic in them???

To be completely honest, I was shocked when I first learned this too. Most of those convenient laundry sheets you see online contain PVA (polyvinyl alcohol). It might sound totally harmless and be touted as the completely green alternative, but it is actually a synthetic plastic. It dissolves in your wash water, but it doesn’t just disappear. An estimated 21 million pounds of PVA plastic enters US wastewater every single year from pods and sheets alone.
