When Librarian Stacey, our resident manga and video game expert, isn’t at the Children’s Desk, she’s often diving into a great manga series.

Lately, she’s been hooked on “The Summer Hikaru Died” by Mokumokuren, a slow-burn horror manga about a teenager who realizes his best friend returned from the mountains as something other than human.

“Horror is a harder genre for me to buy into,” Stacey says. “I really enjoyed how this one is written. Before I knew it, I was lost in a world where the difference between human and monster is up for debate.”
