Splendor Oaks
💐The past week has been a little quieter here than usual, and I wanted to share why.
This arrangement was made in honor of my best friend’s dad who passed unexpectedly. Everyone who loved him was unprepared and in need of something beautiful… myself included. Harvesting flowers for a time like this is always an incredible honor, but it’s also a reminder of how deeply flowers become part of life’s biggest moments. The first dahlia I ever harvested as a flower farmer in 2021 went into my own dad’s hospice arrangement and now, 5 years later, I can say I feel the need to keep growing beauty so it can fill the space that exists around grief more than ever.
Even on a week full of fierce summer storms the sowing, weeding, harvests and orders do not stop, plus both of my boys are in town so simply taking a step back to be present everywhere I was needed meant social media needed to take a back seat. Today was spent surrounded by a large but tightly knit group of friends who I have considered my extended family for the last 30 years. I will never be able to express how thankful I am to have had such longstanding friendships where over the decades everyone’s individual families have shifted into one giant clan.
Tomorrow I will be easing back into the rhythm of the farm with an early morning harvest of the 21 varieties in the arrangement plus Chanterelle mushrooms! The farmstand will be open with a limited number of grab-and-go bouquets. It will also be your last chance to grab our Peach ProCut sunflowers until next season—they’ve been such a favorite!
As those finish, our next major harvest is beginning. Over the next couple of weeks, the lisianthus will be coming into full production, and I honestly can’t wait to share them with you. They’re some of my favorite flowers we grow all year, and I think you’ll understand why once you see them. Besides their beauty, they have the longest vaselife… often over 3 weeks!
Thank you, as always, for supporting this little flower farm through every season—both the joyful ones and the difficult ones. If your dad is still on this side of eternity, hug him tight this Father’s Day weekend. ❤️

This morning’s harvest was one of those “stop and take it in” kind of mornings 🌸 Buckets overflowing with fresh-cut blooms, the air cool before the heat settles in, and so many beautiful varieties ready to grace your table!
A quick farmstand update for this weekend:
The stand will be open Sunday for pre-order pickup only. Pre-orders will close Saturday at 6 PM as our family will be celebrating Joshua’s high school graduation on Saturday 🎓✨
We also still have a few spots open for our Summer Flower Subscription! If you’ve been thinking about treating yourself (or someone else) to fresh flowers all season long, you can sign up on our website before spots fill 💐
Thank you all for supporting this little farm through every season — flowers and life milestones alike. We’re so grateful.
