β¨Transformation Tuesday β¨
This patient came in for an orthodontic consultation with:
π Mildly Convex Profile β Slight outward curve to the facial profile, often due to jaw positioning.
π Non-Consonant Smile β The smile line does not fully follow the curve of the lower lip.
π Class II Division 2 β A bite relationship where the upper teeth sit ahead of the lowers, often with inward-tilted front teeth.
π 4mm Deep Bite / 50% Overbite / Left Brodie Bite β Upper front teeth overlap the lowers more than normal, with a crossbite affecting the left side.
π Moderate Upper Arch Crowding β Not enough space in the upper jaw, causing teeth to overlap or rotate.
π Mild Lower Arch Crowding β Slight lack of space in the lower jaw causing minor crowding.
π Mild Maxillary Constriction β The upper jaw is slightly narrower than ideal.
π Mild Mandibular Constriction β The lower jaw is slightly narrow.
π Lower Midline Deviated 1mm Right β The lower front teeth are slightly shifted to the right.
Ectopic tooth- tooth is erupting out of position, a baby canine remains, and the upper left canine is trapped beneath the gums.
π Moderate Generalized Inflammation β Mild to moderate gum irritation and swelling throughout the mouth.
This smile transformation began with comprehensive orthodontic treatment using braces to carefully level and align the teeth while creating space without extractions. An exposure procedure was performed to guide the impacted upper canine into its proper position. This helped achieve a healthier bite, improved function, and a beautifully balanced smile built to last! β¨π
