PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE plan and prepare now. I can not stress enough how important it is to be severe weather aware tomorrow (Saturday) night. Strong, long track tornadoes are likely across north Georgia while many of you are already asleep. Severe thunderstorms Saturday night could see winds of up to 80mph. West metro Atlanta is already under a level 4 (out of 5) threat of severe storms for our day 2 outlook. This is very rare! The last time west metro Atlanta was under a level 4 on the day 2 outlook was April 4, 2017 (almost 8 years ago)!
Please make sure you are home before 9pm Saturday night.
I expect the strongest storms over the metro between midnight-4am. The severe weather threat for north Georgia is between 8pm Saturday - 6am Sunday.
Know where you will go in the event of a tornado warning. Sleep somewhere safe Saturday night if you need to.
If you have a basement, go there. If you don't, go to an interior room away from any windows.
Call your friends and neighbors and make sure they know and are ready.
This is a very serious threat unfolding - I can not stress the upcoming danger enough. 🙏🙏🙏
