We enjoyed a blessed Sunday at Canton First Methodist Church this past weekend, as we recognized & celebrated our Graduating Class of 2026 🎉🎓✝️

What a joy it is to watch each of our CFMC Student Ministry - LEaD graduates grow into Jesus loving young men & women! God is moving in big ways through this emerging generation as they take their next steps into new chapters. No matter the path, no matter the journey, may they each know they are loved, cherished, and wonderfully & uniquely made for an amazing purpose! He has a beautiful plan for this group of young adults.

Our Canton First church family is very proud of them as they celebrate this important milestone in their lives. We are praying for each graduate as they enter into a new and exciting season. To God be the glory!

LEaD Student Ministry would like to introduce and give a warm welcome to Miss Savannah Mouritsen 🎉🙏

We are blessed to bring Savannah aboard as our Summer 2026 CFMC Student Ministry - LEaD Intern! She and her family call Canton First Methodist home, and we’re excited to see all the ways the Holy Spirit will move in & through her during this leadership season.

Here are some fun facts about Savannah!

- She attends The Citadel in South Carolina, and is going into her Junior year double majoring in Criminal Justice & Psychology 🫡📚🐶

- Savannah plays the clarinet, she enjoys running, and loves photography! 📸

- Favorite Bible verse is Psalm 46:1 - “God is our refuge and strength, an ever present help in trouble.” (NIV) ✝️

- Savannah is most excited about the LEaD Ministry internship opportunity, because she’s looking forward to building connections with our emerging generation and growing even closer to Christ as she grows in leadership 🙏

Great morning at our CFMC Student Ministry - LEaD Second Saturday Breakfast & Bible Study!

Wonderful time of fellowship, Christian community, and conversation surrounding God’s Word 📖🙏🥞 Grateful to one of our student leaders, Asher for sharing the devotional this month! Great Word shared with a great group.

God is moving in big ways in & through our emerging generation. We also loved having Aunt Karen & Uncle Shawn hang with us today!

Tonight we celebrated a huge milestone in the lives of our Class of 2026 High School Graduates 🎓⛪️🎉

These amazing graduates & their families gathered tonight to celebrate this exciting season, with a delicious catered meal and heart-opening testimonies shared by some of our CFMC Student Ministry - LEaD Seniors 🙏 Grateful for the wonderful serve team who helped make this night so special for our families!

As we prayed, enjoyed fellowship, laughed, shared our hearts & journeys with Jesus it took all I could do to hold back tears of joy and gratitude. The 2026 graduating class has been an anchor for Canton First Methodist Church and what LEaD Student Ministry has become. Each young adult’s servant leadership, surrender to Christ, and openness to receive what God has for them is inspiring- such a testimony to what God has done, and what He continues to do as we pray for immeasurably more. Each of these Seniors welcomed a then new student pastor into the loving arms of this beautiful church community, trusting Jesus with whatever direction He would have our emerging generation go for him. We’re beyond proud of these students and how they consistently model faith for everyone around them- not just with their words but with their lives.

This gifted, humble, intentional, Christ-centered group is the reason we have a beautiful building expansion on the way. The Class of 2026 has paved the way, and we have no doubt that the Lord has AMAZING plans for them & their futures! May they continue to abide in Jesus, become like Jesus, and do what Jesus did. May they journey into this next exciting chapter of their lives equipped, empowered, and strengthened by His Spirit to make disciples! They are loved, they are chosen, they are His children. Jeremiah 29:11
