Remembering Steve Albini on what would have been his 64th birthday.

From our studio manager and chief engineer, Nick:

"He's genuinely my hero. His ethos and the way he moved through both life and this industry is something I've looked up to and tried to model since I was a teenager."

The first photo shows Steve setting up drums in our live room, capturing the signature Pachyderm sound that can be heard on countless recordings. The final photo features the LOMO logo, which Steve installed himself in our live room as a tribute to his favorite microphone manufacturer. During the In Utero sessions, he used a LOMO 19A9 tube condenser microphone to record Kurt Cobain's vocals.
