All the early mornings, twice a day milking and being tied to the homestead at certain hours is worth it for this GOLD! All the raw milk! All the raw butter! All the raw cream! Learning to make cheeses and different dairy products. WORTH IT! Vaca Lola is definitely the ⭐️ of the homestead 🐄 we are back!

2 weeks ago we took our first home grown pig to the processor. Bacon lived an amazing life with us. Full of belly rubs, ear scratches, pumpkins, scraps, grass, sunshine and land to roam and a little boy who loved on her daily. Bittersweet. We got her with the intention of raising her for meat, hence the name, and we knew this day was coming. We had planned on processing her ourselves but I was still sick and there was a lot going on, so off to the butcher she went. Thank you, Bacon, for your life that will nourish us. In the end, this is why we chose this life. To know our animals lived the best life possible and have only one bad day. Gracias Chuyito for this vida 🤍
