π¨π€Ώ Public Safety Divers Complete ERDI 1 Training at Lake of the Ozarks π€Ώπ¨
This past weekend, public safety personnel from across Missouri came together to complete ERDI 1 (Emergency Response Diving International) Public Safety Diver Training, enhancing their skills and readiness for underwater search, rescue, and recovery operations.
The training combined classroom instruction, equipment familiarization, tender operations, communications, search techniques, and practical dive scenarios designed to prepare responders for the unique challenges of public safety diving.
Participating agencies included:
πΉ Mid-County Fire Protection District
πΉ Sunrise Beach Fire Protection District
πΉ Rocky Mount Fire Protection District
πΉ Osage Beach Fire Protection District
πΉ Stoddard County Ambulance District
πΉ Cape Girardeau Fire Department
πΉ Leeβs Summit Underwater Recovery/Rescue
This course provided valuable opportunities for agencies to train together, strengthen regional partnerships, and build the teamwork necessary for successful multi-agency responses. Public safety diving requires a high level of technical skill, discipline, and trust among team members, and this training helped ensure participants are prepared when called upon to serve their communities.
A special thank you to the citizens of Ramp Road for graciously allowing the use of their waterfront property as an outdoor training location. Their hospitality and support, including providing snacks and refreshments for our divers and support personnel, helped make this training a tremendous success. Community partnerships like these play an important role in helping public safety agencies train and prepare for emergencies.
We would also like to thank all instructors, support personnel, and participating organizations who dedicated their time and effort to making this training possible.
Training together today so we can respond together tomorrow.

π§π§οΈ Flooded Roadways β Turn Around, Donβt Drown π§οΈπ§
Mid-County Fire Protection District is urging motorists to use extreme caution as heavy rainfall has caused water to accumulate on several roadways throughout our district.
β οΈ Never drive through flooded roadways. It only takes a small amount of moving water to sweep a vehicle off the road, and the roadway beneath the water may be damaged or washed away.
Safety Tips:
βοΈ Turn around and find an alternate route.
βοΈ Obey all road closure signs and barricades.
βοΈ Slow down during heavy rain and allow extra stopping distance.
βοΈ Stay alert for emergency responders and road crews working in affected areas.
βοΈ Do not attempt to walk through moving water.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to keep our community safe.
If you encounter a flooded roadway, please avoid the area.
Remember: Turn Around, Donβt Drown. Your destination can waitβyour safety cannot.

On 5/25/26 at 2:51am the MCFPD was dispatched to a reported commercial fire at the Pebble Bay Club Restaurant off of Good Neighbors Road west of Camdenton. As units were responding they could see flames and smoke from several miles away indicating a working fire. MCFPD Engine 912 arrived and reported significant fire conditions with the building approximately 25% involved. First arriving unit immediately began an attack on the fire. A second alarm was also struck that dispatched additional mutual aid companies. Approximately 45 minutes after arrival the fire was brought under control. Crews then spent the next 2 hours overhauling the structure to extinguish all remaining hot spots.
Due to the size of the incident the State Fire Marshal was contacted to assist with the cause and origin investigation. The restaurant suffered extensive fire, smoke and water damage. There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters.
The MCFPD responded with 2 Engines, 4 Tankers, a Squad and a Fireboat. We were assisted at the scene by an Engine and a Tanker from the Osage Beach FPD, and Engine from the Sunrise Beach FPD, an Engine from the Lake Ozark FPD, a Tanker from the Southwest FPD, a Tanker from the Northwest FPD and the Camden Ambulance. Additionally, the Lebanon FD responded an Engine to MCFPD Station #1 to cover calls.
