To pack a salad for a picnic or barbecue, grab a large plastic bowl with a lid, pour the dressing in, and pile the greens (plus any add-ins) on top. Make sure the lid is sealed tight and stow the bowl upright in an insulated container with several ice packs. Toss just before serving.
