Following on from this post and giving more information on our Report Classification System, we have just 4/8,055 Reports that scored '10' in the entire Database.

Those reports came from Del Norte County CA in 1967, Washington County IL in 2008, Lewis and Clark County MT in 2015 and Tuscola County MI in 1985.

We recently found an interview on YouTube (link in comments) with the Investigator for the MI report, Art Kapa, who talks about the incident around 9 minutes in, and has the cast footprints in the background behind him.

Please Note : We are now up to 209 reports of a Report Classification Score of 8 or above.

As you can imagine, we’ve read A LOT of reports over the past 15+ years and naturally, some of them can be a little, let’s just say, not so great and lacking in certain detail.

So, we decided (some time back now) to devise a ‘Report Score’ check list comprised of various KPI’s, in a strategically designed filtering system, and grade the ‘better’, more detailed reports and assign them a ‘score’ out of a maximum 10 points.

The system that we finally all agreed sets out 7 specific categories including

Report Source
Report Classification
Witness Number
Sighting Duration
Investigation
Reported Interval
Collected Evidence

Within those 7 KPI’s we have a scoring system based on the specific answers within them, with a 2, 1 and 0 point outcome.

And example of this would be the ‘Report Classification’

An Actual Visual Report would be yield a maximum score of 2 points, a Non Visual Report such as Vocalizations or Knocks would yield 1 score and a report via a third party no matter what detail was in it, yields 0 points due to the potential margin for error within the reporting of the report.

We look forward to reviewing these numbers more so and attempting to get the best out of them, and also releasing them publicly for the first time in the hope to find ‘better’ reports in specific areas, at specific times of year etc etc.

The Database on the whole (7,626 reports), averages a score of 4.498 which appears to me to be low, so let’s mine a little harder to find the good reports.

We have a total of 192 reports that score 8 or more points and being familiar with these reports, I can safely say that these are some of the reports reports that we have, by some distance.

Two States stand out where 8+ report scores are concerned, Washington and Ohio.

Counties that see more than one 8+ score report are as follows : Comal TX, Guernsey OH, Jackson IL, Lafayette MO, Larimer CO, Le Flore OK, Miami OH, the Olympic Peninsula in WA sees 11 reports, Park CO, Polk WI, Rutland VT, San Bernardino CA, Clackamas OR, Cowlitz WA, King WA, Linn OR, Pierce WA, Skamania WA, Trinity CA and Washington County NY.

A total of 281 Reports locked and loaded in the database from this Sasquatch heavy Upper Mid Western State, dating back to 1910.

The counties of Oscoda (Huron-Manistee NF) with 14 reports, Delta and neighboring Schoolcraft (Upper Peninsula) both with 11, and Tuscola (Thumb Region) with 10, lead the way in Michigans 83 total counties.

The most common time for a report in Michigan overall is the 7pm-8pm hourly time frame, with Fall being the most common season for a report, making up 36% of all reports. During Fall, that 7pm-8pm weighs heavily for the most common hourly time frame for all reports.

Where ‘Animal Skin Color’ is described, 94% (30/32) of All Reports are described as ‘Black’.
