April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and PBE is donating to Jane Doe Inc, an organization committed to sexual assault prevention in Boston. We acknowledge that there are miles to go towards ending sexual assault, especially on American college campuses, where 13% of all students and 26.4% of females experience sexual assault.*

We have decided to focus on the symbol of the bicycle as a reminder of the role we all doing the work to prevent sexual assault. It was two bicyclists, passing by, who intervened in the 2015 Stanford sexual assault of Chanel Miller.

You can complete the 5k however you choose. Bike, run, walk, swim, erg: the brothers of PBE only ask that you keep in your mind, as we pledge to, the work left to do to end sexual assault. Every dollar we raise will be given directly to Jane Doe Inc. T-shirts are also available for purchase.

PBE Presents it’s next brother highlight: !

Bo Hardin is a junior studying course 15-3 and minoring in course 18. He is pursuing a career in investment banking and will be working at Morgan Stanley this summer. Trying to spread the world of finance throughout the MIT community, Bo was a founding member of MIT Finance Club and currently serves as president. He also started the Finance FPOP and will serve as lead counselor this year.

Right now Bo is in his hometown of Lafayette, Louisiana. He claims it is the best place to quarantine because not only is the rural environment good for social distancing, but “you can buy juul pods at 18 and golf courses are still open.”

A fun fact about Bo is that after an early retirement from baseball, Bo is relentless in his pursuit of being a professional die player. Also, his southern accent hasn’t gone away at all in his 3 years at MIT.

On Monday, the brothers hosted officers from the MIT Police Department for dinner. We appreciate the time they took to come to the house. It was great having them!
