The novel coronavirus has infected more than 1.07 million people and killed over 58,000 worldwide, with the US having reported more than 261,538 cases and over 6,600 deaths, according to Johns Hopkins University. Simcere Innovation has been taking thorough measures to best protect our employees and community during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Because we believe that wearing face masks is a vital method to reduce community viral transmission, we have been providing 2 masks/day for our employees since March 10th and now require our employees to wear masks at work since March 23rd. Yesterday, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said, “Every New Yorker should wear a mask outside to help stop coronavirus spread.” Additionally, the White House is expected to announce a new policy that would urge Americans to wear cloth masks in an effort to slow or prevent coronavirus spread based on guidance from the CDC, according to a federal official familiar with the proposal.

We suggest that you wear a mask to slow coronavirus spread to protect ourselves, others, and our community, but please don’t wear a medical mask such as N95, because those are needed by health care workers fighting the coronavirus pandemic.
