With food assistance programs like SNAP, HIP (Healthy Incentives Program), WIC, and the City of Boston Farmers’ Market Coupon Program, families in East Boston and surrounding communities can increase their grocery budget and bring home more fresh, local produce from this market every week. And through the Power of Produce Club, a nutrition incentive that issues coupons of $2.50 to participating children to buy their own produce from farmers, kids get to explore new fruits and vegetables, learn about nutrition, and build healthy habits early.
