🇺🇸 Happy Fourth of July from DaisyLu Ranch 🇺🇸

Wherever this holiday weekend finds you, we hope you have a peaceful and safe holiday. As you celebrate—or simply enjoy a quiet day—please remember to keep your pets safe. Fireworks can be frightening, so keep them indoors, make sure they have secure ID tags, and provide them with a calm, comfortable place to relax.

Thank you for being part of the DaisyLu Ranch family and for helping us care for senior and hospice dogs. Wishing you a safe and happy Fourth of July!

UPDATE ON OUR MALTESE SIBLINGS đź©·

We took our trio to our vet for their first checkup, and we can now confirm they are one handsome little boy and two adorable girls. They are tiny —each weighing under 5 pounds!

Sadly, we believe this may have been their very first visit to a veterinarian in all 14 years of their lives. It certainly appears they have gone without much-needed medical care for a very long time.

The little boy is neutered, but we don’t believe either of the girls has been spayed. None of the three has any teeth left, one of the girls is missing her entire lower jaw, and all three are riddled with tumors that will need to be carefully evaluated. As a first step, we ran senior bloodwork on all of them so we can determine the safest way to move forward with their medical care.

The amazing thing is that despite everything, they are happy, energetic, and incredibly spunky. They have wonderful appetites, enjoy exploring, and don’t seem to let their medical challenges slow them down one bit.

We have a long road ahead, but they are finally getting the love and medical care they deserve. We’ll continue to keep everyone updated on their journey. Thank you for cheering them on every step of the way.

What began as a rescue mission has turned into a forever love story.

Kacee, formerly known as Dottie, has officially been adopted by her wonderful family, Irv and Marcia!

Kacee was rescued by DaisyLu Ranch from SEAACA in Downey, CA and before she began her new life, we made sure she received the medical care she so desperately needed. She underwent surgery for a life-threatening pyometra, was spayed, had multiple mammary tumors removed and received a much-needed dental. Seeing her healthy, happy, and deeply loved makes every step of that journey worthwhile.

Although she came to us as a senior, she quickly proved that age is just a number. She completely stole the hearts of her new family during her foster-to-adopt trial, and now her happily-ever-after is official.

Thank you, Irv and Marcia, for opening your hearts and home to this precious girl. We know Kacee will be loved every single day for the rest of her life.

Happy forever, sweet Kacee. You are exactly where you belong.

TEENY WEENY MALTESE TRIO UPDATE 🩵🩵

It’s hard to believe that just a few days ago these three precious 14-year-old siblings were facing an uncertain future after losing the only family they had ever known.

Today, they are safe, loved, and thriving in their wonderful foster home thanks to Bruce and Nina. They have settled in beautifully and are enjoying the peaceful life every senior deserves.

These little ones are smaller than they look in photos and are absolutely tiny in person. We also have a funny little update—we originally thought there were two girls and one boy, but it now appears they may actually all be boys! We’ll know for sure after their veterinary appointment this Wednesday.

While they are doing wonderfully in foster care, we are looking for a long-term local foster home where they can continue to enjoy all the love and comfort they deserve.

If you live in or near Camarillo CA and would like to open your heart and home to this adorable senior trio, we’d love to hear from you.

Just look at Lisa now ❤️

When DaisyLu Ranch rescued 17-year-old Lisa from the shelter, she was a tiny ball of spice. She wasn’t sure who to trust and made it very clear she wanted everyone to keep their distance. After everything she’d been through, we couldn’t blame her one bit.

Today, she’s a completely different little girl.

Now Lisa wants to be as close to us as possible. She follows us around the house, happily waddling behind us from room to room, always wanting to know where her people are. She has traded fear for trust, and watching that transformation has been one of the greatest gifts.

This is why we rescue senior dogs. Sometimes all they need is a little patience, a safe place, and the chance to realize they’re finally home.

We’re so proud of you, Lisa. ❤️
