Of everything I used to get rid of my menopause belly at 48, the one thing you can't buy is lower stress, and it drove me insane.
It comes down to cortisol. Your stress hormone. And in menopause it gets louder.
Here's the piece that finally made it click for me.
Estrogen helps keep cortisol in check. When estrogen drops, cortisol runs higher over the same exact life.
Same stress, same schedule, more cortisol. That's the deal now.
And high cortisol tells your body to hold onto fat right around your middle. The belly. Of course it's the belly.
The wild part is your body cannot tell the difference between a real emergency and your teenager texting "can we talk" with nothing after it.
Same sirens, full panic. Every time.
Now I want to be honest, because the internet oversells this one. Cortisol is a piece of the belly puzzle, not the whole villain.
But it's a real piece, and there's no pill for it.
No powder that Cheryl from your gym is gonna sell you. Sorry, Cheryl. Love you. The maca isn't doing it.
What actually worked: I walk, I lift, I sleep, I meditate. I say no to what doesn't matter.
I stopped competing to be the most exhausted woman in the room.
And I stopped giving a single f**k what anyone thinks.
Judge me. My cortisol has never been better.

One of the things I used to get rid of my menopause belly, I ignored for years because I thought it was for men.
At 48 it's the simplest thing I added all year.
That thing is creatine.
In the full episode I walk through all 10 things I used to get rid of my menopause belly at 48, and where creatine fits in and exactly how I take it.
