I recovered these pictures from and old i pad. Might as well post them here.

This cap had settled causing it to hold water and slowly leak into the chimney at the top. I blocked in around the middle too raise the cap 1.5” and shed the water off all four sides and sealed the corners. In the future, the siding along with dry rot will be replaced.
