Now that students have discovered that properties help us distinguish substances from one another. They are now investigating what happens when you combine substances. Students have found that certain substances undergo chemical reactions when they are combined. Chemical reactions change substances and create new substances with different properties!

We have spent the past week or so reviewing some important 5th and 6th grade science topics. One of these was potential and kinetic energy. Students were testing the height of rebound of different type so for balls and determining how potential and kinetic energy were involved. You may have seen them playing a game called coaster creator where they need to design a working roller coasters using the ideas of potential and kinetic energy!

7th graders start taking the MSTEP May 8th. Our science MSTEP will be May 15th and 16th. Make sure you student is getting rest and gives their best effort!
