Nix has been out on disability all week! Finally back in the office today.
She decided a fun way to get a few days off of work would be to INHALE a NERF DART down in to her lower trachea and block her airway.

Did we have to perform the heimlich in panic multiple times while trying to get her breathing and to the vet?
Yup.
Did it require 3 days in the ICU at the vet?
Yup.
Did she get Aspirated Pneumonia because of it?
Yup.
Did she need emergency surgery to remove said nerf dart?
Yup.
Is she on sedatives for the next few days so she doesn't breathe too hard?
Yup.
Did she learn ANYTHING from this terrifying ordeal?
NOPE.
Next time just ask for a few days off like the rest of the team. 😭🤣
On a serious note, we are all so thankful 🙏 she survived and is still here with us. We almost lost her 4 times Sunday/Monday ❤️ She received amazing care at Maine Veterinary Medical Center ❤️
