fig nine

I’m thrilled to announce that fig nine will be taking the redistribution pledge through Reclaim Black Friday organized by .
As a white-owned business that benefits from intersectional privilege, it is essential that we recognize our place in this society and to challenge the way that we are expected operate within it. Collaborating with and learning from those who center Black and Indigenous voices is just one small way that we can be a part of the future we want to see.
From now until Monday, we pledge to redistribute 10% of our sales to the Black Hives Matter Project and to DIGDEEP Navajo Water Project.
I hope you’ll take the pledge with us. Shopping with businesses who have taken the pledge is one way to participate, but I urge you read, listen, learn (& unlearn) all that you can around this time. The quote above from is one that rings so true - we have to recognize the truth before we can heal. Let’s start here.

The third and final batch of these babies is heading out this week!!
It has been a pretty magical experience to be sending these out. It’s hard work, but we (and that includes you, my friends!) are laying the foundation for something great.
Have you already received your dress? Send pics! 😏 Or comment below and tell us something you love about your Wrap Dress 👇🏼🧡

This morning we picked up the last of the Wrap Dresses from our production partner, Laura (intro to come!) in Belgrade, MT. We’ve been having the most incredible fall in Montana this year and this photo is how the drive felt but could never be replicated with my wobbly phone on the dashboard.
I’ll be shipping out ALL the Wrap Dresses by the end of the month and I 👏🏼 am 👏🏼 so 👏🏼 ex 👏🏼 cited 👏🏼
In other news, the newsletter went out earlier this week with updates and musings and if you’re on the mailing list you already knew that.
If you’re not on the mailing list, wut? Head to our site and fill out the prompt, or hit me up in my DM’s 😏 and I’ll sign you up.
Love you love you 🧡

You know what?
I’m overwhelmed.
Between getting these orders out (finally!) and a day job (I think I’m not supposed to tell you all that I have a day job? 🤔), a kid in kindergarten with unexpected remote learning days, starting therapy (crying in the middle of the day has proven to make me much more tired in the evening, who knew?), doc appts, work appts, creative appts, breakfast, lunch, dinner and the list goes on (and on and on) - everything is just, a lot.
There’s a part of me that wants to conclude this with some flowery notion about how I’ll find my balance and figure this all out and be more present real soon. But the reality is I have to take a slower approach to this endeavor and I won’t let the pressures of capitalism fool me into thinking I need to do more than I can handle to meet a false standard of ‘making it’.
I know the real ones are here for the long haul. I also know that going ~slow~ is part of what challenges the current way of doing things. So, as much I am in a constant back and forth of feeling the need to do more and feeling the need to rest and recuperate, I tend to lean toward the latter. I hope you’re all doing the same, if that’s what you need.
To moving forward, and also to standing still.
