Hello wonderful people! I do not want to be an alarmist. However, I do want to address the respiratory disease concern that has been on the news. This bug is real and has yet to be identified and therefore best treatment is unknown. I have been in touch with clinics in neighboring Ohio. They are reporting concerning increases in severe respiratory diseases which have resulted in some fatalities . Keep in mind that every dog with a cough, will not have this mystery bug. The typical cough bugs are still out there. However, in an abundance of caution I am suggesting that community gathering of dogs be avoided- this includes stores, day care, grooming, boarding, parks, group classes, etc.... If you wish to continue as is, please pay close attention to disinfection protocols and be sure your dog is up to date on all respiratory vaccinations as many of the worse cases are compounded by multiple bugs at once. If we receive any updated information, we will pass it along. As always, we continue to disinfect our surfaces multiple times throughout the day and we ask that any dogs with a cough remain in the car until they can be evaluated. Stay well everyone- Dr Karner 🤗
