Forced to travel to Florida on family business of course Ben made a trip to visit, tour, and learn about the makerspace in the area the Tampa Hackerspace. Don't worry he went during a time when no one was using the space, wore a mask, and socially distanced.

The Tampa Hackerspace has about 50 active members, supports workshops and events, and does a lot of work with kids. Members actively support the space and community projects. They are also the producers of the Maker Faire Tampa.

They have been closed down fully, and now partially due to Covid-19 but are on a runway to fully reopening once the pandemic is finished.

They have a great facility including two bays of an industrial building and may expand into a third. They include a retro arcade area in their entryway, a classroom, digital fabrication and electronics, metal working, woodworking, fiber arts, crafting, and have CNC, Laser Cutter, 3D printers, Welding, Milling,and a number of cool tools and facilities.

Of course any makerspace is about the people and sadly Ben was only able to meet the founder for the tour, however it is clear their community is very supportive and holds open maker nights, and does a lot of community outreach.
