Let us tell you about Joe, a Visiting Angels of Lower Fairfield County caregiver. đź’™

"Two years ago, Joe called the office looking for care at home for his wife, Linda, who was living with dementia and needing assistance with everyday tasks. It was a match made in heaven when a live-in caregiver, Victoria, started working with Linda, and she soon became part of the family. Linda’s passing earlier this year was a difficult time for Joe. He missed waking up to her every day, assisting Victoria with Linda's care needs, and having his partner by his side. He loved sharing stories about her and often talked about the good relationship that she had with Victoria.

That’s when the office reached out to Joe and asked if he could join our Angel team. We wanted him to share his story with new caregivers during orientation, which he did. Joe now joins us weekly and, with tears in his eyes (and all of ours!), shares just how important their job is every day and how much of a difference they are making to every client they touch and every home they enter. It allows the family members to become family again with their loved ones, knowing their care needs are being met. And, Joe also helps bring joy to our caregivers and clients, delivering birthday wishes and get-well packages. We couldn’t have asked for a better Angel to join us. Thank you, Joe!
