We have a little nugget of a foster puppy who is making amazing progress! Rescues or rehomed dogs go through so many changes when they arrive at a new place. Their colors don't truly show for some time. It takes at least 3 days to get out of fight or flight, 3 weeks to start feeling at home and 3 months to show their true personality within the comfort of safety and consistency. This little guy is killing it with potty training, body handling, grooming, socialization, crate training and recall skills. He is a firecracker when it comes to tug! Don't let his tiny size fool you 😁 he fully throws all 7 lbs of himself into that game. He is a great challenge and a wealth of lessons for me ❤️ thank you for helping us find comfy clothes, fun toys, a harness and a warm coat for his tiny body.
Looks pretty fun, huh? 🐕 We have camp spots opening up in November and December! 🏠 If you live in Winooski, Burlington, South Burlington or Mallets Bay and would like to get your adventure loving pup into camp, fill out our form to get started! 📝Find it on our website or with the link here: https://forms.gle/nLrqBZ161a1upD9r9

If you have dreamed of having that sharp recall in advanced and distracting settings with your dog, e-collar training could be for you!
What is an e-collar? Modern day e-collars are electronic stimulation collars that use static/stim sensations, like a TENS unit used in physical therapy, to get a dog's attention. We use low working levels with our dogs in a cooperative way that FIRST prioritizes teaching the dog what the stim means, how to turn it off, and that their response to it results in high value rewards from their owner. We use positive reward based practices that strengthens your bond with your dog and gives them clarity in what we are asking. They don't speak our language and we don't speak theirs - e-collars help us to bridge that gap in a fun and cooperative way!
Aren't e-collars shock collars? No! Shock collars were originally invented in the 1950s for hunting dogs to prevent them from getting near mountain lions. The old technology of that time used higher levels than what we see in modern e-collars to avoid life or death situations for their dogs. Much has changed since - we can now utilize and fine-tune low levels of stim for gentle attention getting when competing with distractions in our world like squirrels, deer, food, people, dogs and more. The static shock you feel from your couch is higher than what is used in modern day e-collars.
What e-collar do you use? We exclusively use E-collar Technologies products. They have put in the work to create a safe, reliable, long lasting, and easy to use product that I trust so much that its all I use with my personal dog.
