In their free concert on Tuesday 4/14, the UVM Concert Choir and Catamount Singers will present "SPRING SERENADE / MUD MEDLEY," featuring "Springtime on Funen" by Carl Nielsen; and "Mud Season in Vermont," a new work by Vermont composer Erik Nielsen.

This weekend, our Concert Band, Symphony Orchestra, and Vermont Wind Ensemble perform staples of wind and orchestral literature, contemporary works based in traditional folk melodies, plus the debut of a new work by Grant Mathews '26 (Music Composition & Theory). Did you catch last week's Seven Days article on Music's 100th anniversary? Bassist Rob Duguay '05, whose band SONGEVITY performs in the Recital Hall this upcoming Wednesday, spoke to the paper about his musical career. His musical guests include Professor Alex Stewart on tenor saxophone, and fellow UVM alum Dan Ryan on drums.

SUNDAY, FEB 15 at 3:00 -- Join Erik Kroncke (bass) and Mary Jane Austin (piano) with special guest Maire Therese Carmack (mezzo-soprano) presenting "Love notes for Low voices", music from opera, songs, and spirituals. Selections from Mahler, Rimsky-Korsakov, Tchaikovsky, Ravel, Massenet, Tosti, and Beethoven's beautiful song cycle "An die ferne Geliebte" (to the far off Beloved). Free and open to the public.
