After federal cuts, food banks prepare for increased need 08/04/2025

❗Recent federal cuts to SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) food assistance will have 'devastating impacts across the Bay Area' reports the San Mateo Daily Journal.
🍽 With 675,000 individuals in the Bay Area relying on food assistance, thousands of families and individuals are at risk of losing access to their benefits. Food insecurity has long-term effects on health and development, including higher risk of chronic illness and impacted mental health.
🤝 CALL Primrose is serving record numbers, working diligently to keep up with increasing demand from those who need help putting food on the table each day. The major cuts made to federal government food programs will only further this demand over the next few years, meaning there is much work to be done.
