Know the Signs of Heatstroke
As temperatures rise, heatstroke can become a life-threatening emergency for pets. Knowing the warning signs can help you act quickly and potentially save your pet's life.
Watch for:
✅ Excessive panting
✅ Drooling
✅ Vomiting
✅ Weakness or lethargy
✅ Collapse or unresponsiveness
If you notice any of these signs, move your pet to a cool area and contact your veterinarian immediately.
Prevention is key:
• Provide plenty of fresh water
• Keep pets indoors during extreme heat
• Avoid exercise during the hottest parts of the day
• Never leave pets in parked vehicles
If you have concerns about your pet, our team at Normandy Animal Hospital is here to help.

Is your pet microchipped?
A microchip is a simple, permanent form of identification that can greatly increase the chances of a lost pet being reunited with their family. About the size of a grain of rice, it's quick to implant during a routine visit and lasts a lifetime.
Remember: Microchips are not GPS trackers, and it's important to keep your contact information up to date with the microchip registry.
Not sure if your pet is microchipped or if your information is current? Ask us at your pet's next visit!
