Back from a whirlwind trip to the motherland: first hanging out at Screen Composers Guild of Canada and SOCAN Music's Vancouver social, then off to Montreal for a SOCAN Board Meeting.
The haunting score to The Silent Planet features a combination of atmospheric cues and small chamber group cues, consisting of violin, cello, piano, men's voices and boy soprano recorded all around the world, from the UK to Canada to LA. The cue recorded here was very last cue of the film.
The score to UNSPOKEN included some "out-of-the-box" sounds. As a film that was shot in the frigid Manitoban winter, we wanted to include some of those winter sounds in our score. .clemensseely and I braved -24°C and frigid winds to record some raw sounds that form the backdrop to the soundtrack.
