Here’s some of our recent sound design work, followed by the full mix of the Gen Atlas reveal trailer from Summer Game Fest!

Growing up as big fans of Shadow of the Colossus, it was an incredible honor to contribute to the campaign for Fumito Ueda’s latest project.

Not every project needs aggressive, attention-grabbing sounds. Many projects require us to check our ego at the door, and support the story and tone however possible.

The music in this trailer carries deep emotional power, so it was crucial that our choices didn’t distract from or overpower that. We worked hard to create sounds that supported the music and worked in harmony with it, and mixed them tastefully to do so.

Based on Fumito Ueda’s past projects, we knew that environmental backgrounds, foley and subtle sounds would evoke narrative backstory, even if they barely poked through the music. In projects like this one, it’s not always easy to tell where music ends and sound design begins - ultimately that’s great as long as the trailer is emotionally resonant.
