Have you ever noticed these signs 🚪⬆️ on entry doors in New York State and wondered what they mean?

These are Truss Identification Signs 🏗️, required by law for new buildings constructed with trusses or pre-engineered lumber.

Top half: A Roman numeral (I–V) 🏛️ indicates the building’s construction type.
Bottom half: Shows where trusses or pre-engineered lumber are located—floor (F) 🛠️, roof (R) 🏠, or both (FR).

Why does this matter?

Firefighters 🚒 use these signs to identify potential risks, guiding their actions and helping prevent structural collapses during fires 🔥.
