Watermelon Radish 🍉
• Very mild; a little sweet, a little peppery
• Has a great crunch & holds firm pretty well
• Great garnish for texture & to add a vibrant pop of color to any dish!
Try them either raw or lightly pickled for a tangy crunch on salads, rice bowls, sandwiches, pizzas, & more! Be sure to slice them thin (mandolins work great 😉)
👉🏼 Tip: after slicing, place watermelon radishes in ice water - not only will the cold preserve their color, but they will start to naturally curl, giving them a super cool look!
It’s important to slow down & take the time to appreciate the natural beauty of things.
Stay vibrant, my friends!

This one got me prettyyy excited. I had somewhat of a wild/ fun idea in my mind, put a lot of careful thought into how to make it come to life, & this is what it turned out to be.
Is it perfect? Not one bit. Did I have way too much fun creating this? Obviously yes. Am I proud of taking an idea in my head & making it come to life? Damn right I am.
This is what I love about cooking.
…& yes, it tastes as good as it looks 😏
Stay hungry y’all 🧡

Holiday season is upon us, & there is SO much to be grateful for; gratitude for family, friends, and the food that brings us together around a table. We are beyond thankful to have had the opportunity to cook a Thanksgiving meal for close friends who just welcomed their beautiful daughter into this world 💕 Allowing the people around us to enjoy the experience of a heartfelt meal is what Home Plate Collective is all about ✌🏼💛

Bringin’ it back to the yester-years with this one, bc who doesn’t love PopTarts?
Remember that Plum & Citrus Jam? She was used for the filling here.
The glaze? Citrus, vanilla, & a little Luxardo cherry juice for the win.
And of course, sprinkles, bc sprinkles just make everything more fun, more colorful and just better.
My millennial soul has been craving a PopTart, so I just did the damn thing & decided to have some fun with it.
What are some of your favorite PopTart flavors? Drop ‘em in the comments, & maybe I’ll make it come to life for you 😉
Here’s to embracing the simple things that make you happy & feel like a kid again 🌈🌼
Much love to you all 🩵

Sunday Funday at its finest ☀️
Smoked some pork spare ribs, because why not? It was a beautiful day, & smoking/BBQ are some of my favorite things, so we decided to kick it 🔥
Ribs were rubbed with ‘s Hot Honey Seasoning Blend (Highly recommend!!) 🌶️ 🍯
Smoked for about 6 hours with local sugar maple from 🪵 🍁
Finished with a light coating of homemade Sweet Heat Citrus BBQ Sauce 🍊🌶️
Charred up some romaine & lemons for a little grilled Caesar action on the side 🥬🍋🧀
Ice cold Watermelon Refresher bevy’s were provided by my amazing wife - fresh watermelon juice, lime, & rum…or tequila in my case 😋 🍉🍹
For this being the first time smoking ribs, I would consider it a success, & definitely won’t be the last time! Achieved a beautiful smoke ring, fall off the bone meat, nice bark, what more could you ask for? Well, probably just more napkins…
What I loved most about this particular smoke wasn’t the result (even tho I was suuuuper happy with it). Instead, it was in doing something unknown to me, & taking the time to learn & be intentional with what I was doing, all while being able to slow down, relax, & enjoy the process along with the beauty of the outdoors around me.
Some of the best things in life take time, so we might as well slow down & enjoy the wait 🌸🌼🌻
What’s next? Who knows! But until then, much love! 🤍💫
