The paranormal community came together in a massive show of support, raising $337,951 toward a $500,000 GoFundMe goal through more than 6,200 donations.

A deed transferring 1677 Round Top Road in Burrillville, Rhode Island, to Hawes was officially filed in the town’s land records following a reported $1.3 million closing on June 30, 2026.

Legal disputes involving the property’s mortgage may continue, including claims connected to Elton Castee’s company. However, owning or holding an interest in the mortgage is not the same as owning the house.

As the records currently stand, the filed deed places legal title in Jason Hawes’ name.

This was not just one person fighting to preserve a legendary location. Thousands of paranormal believers, investigators and supporters helped make it possible.
