When I have the time, I love taking my tracks I produce and run them through this Sony Tape Machine to give them some real vintage Lofi vibes. Of course you can do this with the amazing plug-ins that are out there today, but this is just more fun. The tape machine instantly creates this nice character with little to no work. On the other hand you definitely need to make sure you keep the tape heads clean, fresh tape is always nice, and have to be OK with dealing with some inconsistencies when recording. This is not a high-end tape machine so it definitely occasionally has issues. In fact right after I recorded this, the rewind belt broke haha (fortunately I have extras). I see these tape machines being sold for about $50-$100, definitely worth the money if you enjoy this kind of stuff.
