Buffalo Rural Fire Depart

Buffalo Fire Department was dispatched to a garage fire at approximately 9:32 this morning. Upon arrival, crews found a fully involved garage fire with heavy fire showing. Firefighters quickly began an aggressive attack and, with the assistance of mutual aid departments, were able to contain the fire and bring it under control. Crews were also able to save a nearby tractor during operations.

This incident involved additional hazards due to solar panels located on the structure, requiring extra caution from responding personnel.

We would like to thank all assisting agencies for their help and teamwork on scene today, including Buffalo City Fire Department, Prairie Grove Fire Department, Southern Dallas County Fire, Urbana Fire Department, Dallas County Sheriff’s Office, Dallas County 911, and Mercy EMS/Medics and Southwest Electric.
