On the bench today is a Pioneer SX-737. This receiver was a personal project of mine. It received a full restoration with new trimmers, electrolytics, and film caps. Any electrolytic capacitors 4.7 uF or smaller were replaced with film caps, and mylar caps were also replaced to film caps. The STV-4H varistors were replaced due to a fluctuating bias reading, and the output transistors were upgraded and replaced with a beefier output transistor. All zener diodes on the power supply board were replaced, and all transistors prone to failure were also replaced. New glass was installed on the faceplate as the original glass had significant cracks. The outer wood case was refinished with a walnut veneer. The units bias and offset was set to factory specifications following the restoration.
