The Common Place

it’s been quite a stormy 4th of July here in arkansas. so naturally, while enjoyed a fresh cup of coffee this morning, I got the urge to mess around inside with pieces newly available on our website. anyone else in the antique and vintage business knows it never hurts to imagine some of the things you hope find a good home... in your own home, just for a little bit. I’ve had framed flags and red irish chain quilts on my summer pinterest board for a while, so that was my starting inspo. and nothing beats fresh hydrangeas as the crowning jewel for any space. when it comes to pulling together a vignette, I really go off a feeling. I try to think - what story am I telling. this one feels like the story on america’s founding fathers, and a nod to other pieces of Americana during the last 250 years - like the Betsy Ross flag, a book on the Kennedy’s, and salt-glazed pottery from williamsburg. if you missed the tour of this vignette, be sure to check out this morning’s reel to see it all in action.
