🌎 Earth Day feels?

In a lot of ways this Earth Day came and went like a lot of others. Wearing second hand clothes to the gym (and all day - what is a shower?), composting coffee grounds and eggs shells, toting 5 water bottles around to the places our family needed to go, biking to the bank in lieu of driving, still boycotting Amazon, checking on our garden.

In the way that parenthood often has you feeling two things at once, I often feel a multitude of feels about what the heck we're doing here on this beautiful one of a kind, life-sustaining planet.

At least once a week, I get a message from a follower saying "you've changed the way I shop - our household sources second hand now!" or folks who have swapped a safer product in their homes, or someone who set up their own clothing swap after I talk about my favorite pieces I've gotten for free in friends' living rooms.

I see our potential. The humans on this planet. We're smart and inventive and determined and can repair communities after hurricanes.

And yet, I see apathy, the what does my little choice matter anyway folks and bigger, the corporations succeeding for decades to sway public perception of plastics and disposables to the point where the norm is just to "throw it away". Away to WHERE. Away is somewhere to someone.

We all need to do better. Not perfect, but better, and demand better of our lawmakers and the companies we support with our dollars.

This Earth Day I'm making a plan for actions I'm taking here locally to improve where I live. What will you do to improve where you live? (FR I want to know.)
